- Every cover is built around your personal boat, there are no patterns made from generic specs like other cover manufacturers use. Boats are made by hand, so there are always small inconsistencies that can only be accommodated for by patterning the individual boat by hand.
- We use only the best materials available. Each cover is built using Sunbrella brand acrylic fabric and is sewn with Gore brand Tenara Teflon thread. The UV stability of these materials mean that the cover you buy will last many years of hard use.
- Each cover is vented to avoid mildew on the boat’s interior. The problem with a truly waterproof cover is they tend not to breath well. This can cause massive mildew damage to your boats upholstery witch defeats the purpose of the cover. Every cover we make has at least two vents to let your cover breath out moisture.
- No Puddle Guarantee! If you buy your cover from SLO Sail and Canvas you will never have to deal with water puddles again. We build our covers drum tight with calculated water draining angles to eliminate any standing water, if your cover ever has a puddle we will fix it for free.
We manufacture the highest quality, best fitting and longest lasting covers in the industry. First we start with the finest materials from the world’s leading manufacturers : Sunbrella fabrics from Glen Raven Mills, Tenara brand Gore-Tex thread, YKK zippers, Velcro brand velcro and DOT brand stainless steel or brass fasteners. We custom fit each cover to the individual boat to eliminate water puddles and any flapping. We also add vented pole supports to the cover to make the cover drum tight and to allow moisture to escape.
Our construction methods are a step above everyone else for these reasons:
1. All fabric and webbing edges are heat sealed to prevent fraying
2. All sewing is done on a lockstitch sewing machine. This is the strongest stitch type. We don’t chainstitch like many other manufacturers.
3. Vinyl reinforcement around all chafe points. (windshields, cleats, eyestraps, bimini fittings, etc…)
4. We do all of the pattern work from YOUR boat. Those in the industry know that every boat is different. Handrails and cleats aren’t in the same place, windshields aren’t bolted down square, waketowers aren’t put on straight. We make sure your cover has a truly custom fit.
5. We use webbing reinforcement in the edges of snap on covers.
